Kajian Ketahanan Bahasa Kelompok Bidayuh Pegunungan Kalimantan Barat

Penelitian ini mengkaji vitalitas bahasa pada masyarakat Bidayuh pegunungan untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang berkontribusi terhadap pergeseran dan melemahnya bahasa. Komunitas bahasa yang diteliti adalah Tamong, Liboy, Butok, Tawang, Tengon, Badeneh, Sapatoi, Suti Bamayo, Tadietn, dan Kowotn. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan partisipatif dengan menggunakan alat Roda Ketahanan Bahasa dan observasi lapangan. Data dianalisis secara kualitatif dan skala vitalitas bahasa ditentukan dengan menggunakan skala EGIDS (Expanded Graded Intergenerational Disruption Scale). Hasil menunjukkan bahwa Tamong, Liboy, Butok, Tawang, Tengon, dan Badeneh memiliki vitalitas yang kuat (6a) dan dituturkan oleh semua generasi. Sapatoi, Suti Bamayo, Tadietn, dan Kowotn terancam vitalitasnya (6b), artinya hanya beberapa anak yang dapat berbahasa tersebut. Faktor utama yang mempengaruhi lek-lek di Bidayuh pegunungan menjadi lemah adalah motivasi orang tua yang memprioritaskan transmisi bahasa Indonesia kepada anak agar dapat mengikuti pendidikan formal dengan baik.
